Searching For
I’m searching for my hand copied Bible. I copied the Bible from
Genesis to Revelations in 3000 hours using four dozen #4 pencils
down to a nub on 400 sheets of paper while serving time behind
prison bars back in the fifties in the state of Washington. I gave
it to A.A. Allen of Miracle Valley, Arizona. Sister Allen or one of
their kinfolk may still have it. I would like to have it back. It
has a cloth cardboard hand-sown cover with pictures of Jesus, an
original. Is it in the Smithsonian Institute, a library, pastor’s
home, or private home …or maybe it got burned up in a fire years ago
at Miracle Valley. I’ve longed for my hand copied Bible for forty
years. If anyone knows its where about, do let me know. Write to
Lawrence A. Riley PO Box 681286 Fort Payne, AL 35968-1621 or call
256-997-0360. This Bible was written in long hand over a period of
three years. Some lines are written four to one in very fine
handwriting.
